“The ADNOC building lights up in the colours of the Palestinian flag in celebration of the declaration of the State of Palestine,” the media office announced in a tweet, accompanied by an image of the lit-up skyscraper.

The Palestinian Declaration of Independence, proclaimed by Yasser Arafat in 1988 during a historic session of the Palestinian National Council in Algiers, remains a pivotal moment in the Palestinian struggle for statehood.
